Hydraulic lifting equipment has become an effective assistant in the industrial, construction, and logistics sectors. However, operating this equipment also poses many risks of accidents if not performed correctly and in compliance with safety principles. To ensure safety for themselves and the cargo, operators need to be provided with hydraulic lifting equipment operation instructions to obtain standard operating procedures, situational handling skills, and equipment maintenance knowledge.
Notes when using cargo lifting equipment
Lifting equipment such as forklifts, cranes, lift tables, cargo lifts, etc., plays an important role in production, transportation, and warehousing activities. To ensure hydraulic lifting equipment safety, the following issues should be noted:
Inspecting equipment before use
- Inspection: Ensure the equipment has been quality-inspected according to regulations and is within its valid usage period.
- Technical condition: Check the equipment before operation to ensure there are no abnormal signs.
- Maintenance: Equipment needs periodic maintenance according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
The Operator
- Training: Operators must be properly trained, certified, and well-versed in safety procedures.
- Knowledge: Clearly understand the technical characteristics, features, and limitations of the equipment.
- Health: Ensure good health and focus during operation.
Safe Operation

- Load capacity: Do not lift or lower cargo exceeding the load capacity. Distribute the load evenly on the equipment.
- Environment: Ensure a safe workspace with sufficient light and no obstacles.
- Observation: Observe surroundings carefully during operation to avoid collisions with people, equipment, or other structures.
- Signals: Use clear signals when working with support personnel.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Use full PPE: safety helmets, safety shoes, gloves, etc.
Troubleshooting
- Stop operation: Stop immediately upon detecting a fault or abnormal sign.
- Report: Report to the supervisor for support.
- Repair: Only use the equipment after it has been repaired by a qualified person.
After Use
- Cleaning: Clean the equipment thoroughly.
- Storage: Store the equipment in a safe, dry place.
